Asthma’s early signs often appear subtle — log ignore kar dete hain thinking it’s just a cold or weakness. But early detection is the most powerful tool to stop asthma from worsening.

Persistent Dry Cough (लगातार सूखी खाँसी) A cough that never seems to end — especially at night or early in the morning — is often the first red flag. It’s not a normal viral cough; ye “Asthmatic Cough” hoti hai.
 जब खाँसी बिना किसी कारण के हफ्तों तक बनी रहे, और रात में बढ़ जाए, तो यह अस्थमा का पहला संकेत हो सकता है।

Wheezing Sound (सांस लेते समय सीटी जैसी आवाज़) When you breathe and hear a soft whistling sound, it means your airways are narrowing. Sometimes a doctor can only hear it with a stethoscope, but in other cases, family members can hear it too.

Shortness of Breath (सांस फूलना) Feeling breathless after climbing just a few stairs or walking fast? That’s not just tiredness — it could be asthma. Patients often feel like they can’t take a full breath, which also causes anxiety.

 अस्थमा में फेफड़ों की नलियाँ सिकुड़ जाती हैं जिससे हवा का प्रवाह रुक जाता है, और मरीज को दम घुटने जैसा महसूस होता है।

Chest Tightness or Pressure (सीने में जकड़न या भारीपन) A feeling that someone has tied a tight belt around your chest — this heaviness is another key indicator. Bronchoconstriction (श्वसन नलियों का सिकुड़ना) causes this discomfort. 

 अस्थमा में सीने पर दबाव या जकड़न महसूस होना एक गंभीर लक्षण है।

Night-Time Symptoms (रात में लक्षण बढ़ना) Many patients wake up at midnight with coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath. This is called Nocturnal Asthma (नॉक्टर्नल अस्थमा). Lack of proper sleep further weakens immunity and energy levels.
